During the installation of ultrasonic water meters, preliminary preparation is essential. The selection of appropriate water meter specifications requires comprehensive consideration based on pipe diameter, flow range and other relevant parameters. At the same time, ensure that all the tools required for installation, such as wrenches, screwdrivers, sealants, etc., are available to facilitate smooth installation. The selection of the installation location must follow professional principles and avoid direct sunlight, humidity and high temperature environments to ensure the normal operation of the water meter. In addition, the installation area should have sufficient space for subsequent maintenance and reading. The water meter should be installed in a horizontal or vertical position, depending on the manufacturer's technical requirements, and ensure that the flow direction of the water meter is consistent with the flow direction of the pipe. Usually there will be an indicator arrow on the water meter. In addition, it is necessary to carefully check whether there are bubbles, impurities or vibrations inside the pipe, which may affect the accuracy of the measurement.
In the actual installation process, the water source of the pipe must be turned off first and the water in the pipe must be drained. Clean the pipe interface to ensure that there are no impurities and dirt to avoid affecting the sealing effect. For external clamp-on ultrasonic water meters, it is necessary to clean the outside of the pipe before installation, remove rust and paint, and select the dense part of the pipe for sensor installation. Apply enough coupling agent between the center of the sensor and the pipe wall, and squeeze appropriately to ensure that there are no bubbles between the sensor and the pipe wall. Then, place the external clamp sensor close to the pipe wall and fix it. For the inserted high temperature probe, its mounting base needs to be welded on the measured pipe section, and the probe and the mounting base are connected by a ball valve, which is convenient for pressure installation and removal when necessary. The connection nut adopts the design of O-ring to ensure the safety of installation and reliability of use.
If the water meter is installed by flange connection, the water meter needs to be placed on the pipe and ensure that the flow direction arrow is consistent with the flow direction of the pipe. When the water meter is fixed to the pipe with a flange, pay attention to the tightening sequence and strength of the bolts to ensure the tightness and sealing of the connection. If a threaded connection is used, ensure the matching and sealing of the thread, and apply sealant appropriately. For water meters with power or communication functions, be sure to connect the power cord and communication line according to the instructions to ensure the accuracy of the connection.
After the installation is completed, a comprehensive inspection and test is required. Turn on the water source of the pipe, observe the working status of the water meter, and check whether there is any water leakage. At the same time, it is necessary to check the normality of the power connection and the smoothness of the communication function. Test and calibrate according to actual needs to ensure that the water meter measures accurately. The parameters of the water meter can be adjusted by comparing the test with the standard water meter to make its measurement results consistent with the standard water meter.
In daily use, regular maintenance of ultrasonic water meters is essential. The integrity of the water meter housing should be checked regularly to ensure that there is no looseness or leakage at the connection, and the dirt that may be attached to the surface of the transducer should be cleaned to ensure the smooth flow of ultrasonic signals. At the same time, ensure the stability and reliability of the power supply, and connect the appropriate power supply (DC or AC) according to the specifications of the water meter and the manufacturer's requirements. When the water meter fails, refer to the troubleshooting guide in the user manual for preliminary diagnosis, and contact the manufacturer's technical support for remote assistance or on-site repair if necessary to ensure the normal operation and measurement accuracy of the water meter.
